What is Kinesiology?
The term comes from Greek and means “study of movement”. Kinesiology is a holistic therapy that combines elements from traditional Chinese medicine, chiropractic, pedagogy, and psychology. At its core is muscle testing – the body’s own feedback system, which we use together to identify the causes of complaints and energy blockages.
The method is gentle, solution-oriented, and suitable for people of all ages.
Kinesiology is resource-oriented. It does not first look for what is missing, but for what is already supportive — for the strengths and experiences you can draw upon. From there, self-regulation is supported: the body’s ability to regain its balance. What can grow from this over time is called resilience in professional language — the ability to cope with stress.

From Babies to Four-Legged Friends
A kinesiology session does not necessarily have to take place with two people in the classical sense – therapist and client. Muscle testing also works vicariously.
Children and Babies
Children often react quickly and directly. The session is accordingly shorter and adapted to their age. For babies and toddlers, I test through the caregiver, usually the mother – the child does not have to do anything.
Couples and Families
Some issues only become apparent when all involved parties are present. Couples, parents with children, or several family members can come together. I have completed additional training for working with couples.
Animals
Kinesiology can also be used with animals. Imbalances are identified through muscle testing of the caregiver – so the owner is present.

Client Experiences
Our pediatrician recommended kinesiology to us because our son picks at and chews his fingers. Monia was recommended to us, so we sought her out, even though we live in Wädenswil. Initially, we were a bit skeptical because it's an alternative method – but our enthusiasm afterward was all the greater!
I am touched! You combine sensitivity and expertise in a professional manner. I felt well cared for from the very first moment.
I particularly appreciate her approach of working through body awareness. Because often we understand life's challenges on an intellectual level – but something entirely different continues to work within the body. Monia has helped me multiple times to break free from such internal spirals and give my life a coherent direction again.
Monia works very empathetically and professionally at the same time. She takes her time, truly listens, and precisely addresses the points that help me progress. Her sessions are enriching for me every time.
Kinesiology was new to me at first, but in the initial two-hour session, Monia Herzog not only managed to convince me of this therapy form, but she even inspired me with it!
I have come to know Monia as very empathetic and extremely professional! I felt a sense of relief after just the first session. It is clear to me that I would gladly go back to her.

Frequently asked questions & answers
Questions I am often asked
Kinesiology means "study of movement". It is a gentle, holistic method that combines elements from traditional Chinese medicine, chiropractic, as well as nutritional science, pedagogy, and psychology. It is solution-oriented: it is less about analyzing a problem than about finding the path to change.
Muscle testing is a feedback system of your own body. I apply light pressure to a muscle and observe how it reacts. This reveals where stresses lie and what has a strengthening effect. It requires no force and does not hurt.
We begin with a conversation about your concern. Afterwards, I work with muscle testing — you remain fully clothed, on the couch, sitting, or standing. Finally, we discuss what has emerged and how to proceed.
That depends on the concern. Often, it's three to five sessions at intervals of two to four weeks. After each session, you decide anew — you incur no obligation.
Yes, for people of all ages. For children, a session is shorter. With babies, I work through the caregiver, usually the mother: muscle testing then happens through her. Sessions with two people or the whole family are also possible.
Kinesiology is a complementary therapeutic method. Its effectiveness is not conclusively scientifically proven, and I do not promise you a cure. Many clients find the work helpful — what it achieves for you will become apparent in practice.
